Job Description
- Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety and Environmental management.
- Maintain relevant HSE logs.
- Assist in the compliance of applicable laws and regulations.
- Prepare applicable HSE reports as necessary.
- Provide assistance and advice on HSE issues to make recommendations to facility management.
- Participate in detailed incident investigations and promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors.
- Assist in the development and presentation of relevant HSE training.
- Observe HSE regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourages safe working practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel.
- Perform other work related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts or facilitates base HSE Coordinator functions such as conduction incident investigations, facility inspections, recommending preventative solutions, and conducting associated HSE training.
- Assists in maintaining all Health Safety and Environmental records, permits and reports as required by Federal, State(s), & Various Local Regulatory Agencies.
- Assists in preparation of applicable HSE reports as necessary.
- Conducts new hire HSE orientations and monthly safety trainings as needed.
- Assists in the transportation of injured persons to a local treating facility.
- Conducts incident investigations, online incident reporting, root cause analysis and recommends corrective action.
- Alerts HSE Manager immediately in regards to an incident or potential HSE issues.
- Identify workplace hazards or unsafe working conditions and ensuring appropriate corrective action is taken.
- Ensure all containers of hazardous materials are properly labeled, stored and/or disposed of.
- Monitor the usage of required employee personal protective equipment.
- Assist with and administer emergency response of spills, first-aid and medical emergencies.
- Works closely with Human Resources, Security and Maintenance personnel.
- Implement corporate, business group and division HSE directives as directed.
- Perform other work-related tasks as requested and/or assigned by the HSE Manager or Director of Operations
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 1+ years experience in occupational health, safety, and environment affairs preferred.
- 2-5 years of HSE experience preferred.
- Familiar with health, safety and environmental regulation and practices.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Willing to travel to other locations in the area if needed.
