Duties: Perform tasks consistent with Company's HSE program.

Responsibilities:β€’ Leads and builds the safety culture at PA Solutions.β€’ Ensure sufficient documentation exists for HSE regulatory and corporate compliance.β€’ Reviews site safety programs and propose improvements to assure that regulatory and corporate requirements are met.β€’ Tours work area to inspect safety equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify and correct potential safety hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and corporate requirements.β€’ Ensure that equipment, materials and protective devices are functioning in a safe manner.β€’ Conduct periodic inspections and audits in accordance with legislative and/or corporate requirements.β€’ Ensure that all employees, including temporary workers and contractors, adhere to safety requirements including the use of personal protective equipment.β€’ Ensure that employees are working in accordance with divisional health and safety procedures.β€’ Advise employees of the existence of any potential or actual health and safety risks.β€’ Provide appropriate instruction for safe work best practices and procedures.β€’ Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of employees.β€’ Determines and enforces requirements for personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety devices.β€’ Applies progressive discipline as appropriate for health, safety and/or environmental rules/procedure violations.β€’ Conducts or coordinates safety training to educate workers about safety policies, procedures laws, and practices.β€’ Coordinates/assists the investigation of incidents/accidents, assures the timely and accurate preparation of electronic incident/accident reports, and communicates with HSE personnel and JHSC. β€’ Confirms and records closure of corrective actions.β€’ Support activities and initiatives outlined by the Joint Health and Safety Committee.β€’ Report any accidents/incidents to HR and HSE Manager/Corporate HSE.β€’ Audits contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to confirm their compliance with the safety program.β€’ Actively participates in and provides leadership to the divisions Emergency Response Team (ERT).β€’ Maintains liaison with outside organizations, such as fire marshals/departments, and rescue teams to assure information exchange.β€’ Provides coordination and oversight for site security, particularly related to emergency response activity.β€’ Other duties as assigned by PA Solutions' Executive Staff.

Additional Information

Education and Experienceβ€’ Bachelor of Science Degree in health, safety, and environment discipline is preferred. Additional related HSE training and relevant professional experience will be considered in lieu of degree.β€’ One to three years HSE working experience in a manufacturing environment.β€’ Solid technical knowledge of regulations: OSHA and EPA and other regulatory agencies.β€’ OSHA 10 Card or 30 Card (Outreach) - General Industry required (obtained within the last 5 years preferred).β€’ Effectively able to present HSE training in a classroom setting.β€’ Assisted with preparations for and, participated in local and corporate audits. Confirms closure of corrective actions.β€’ Education relating to Problem Analysis and Root Cause analysis beneficial.β€’ CPR/First Aid/AED Certification preferred.β€’ Forklift, Aerial Lift/MEWP, and/or Overhead Crane train-the-trainer certificate a plus.β€’ Excellent oral and written communication skills.β€’ Ability to manage multiple task/projects simultaneously.β€’ Must have the ability to travel within the U.S. and Canada (corporate office).
