Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing specialized technical support to the HSE and operations teams. The day to day includes Ad-Hoc Report generation, data visualization, management of CLR's HSE Software (EHS Insight), creation and upkeep of internal dashboards (Spotfire and Power BI) and supporting the organization's data requests. The position will be a technical support for within the department and will help to identify ways to improve current HSE processes and data gathering. Performs a wide variety of tasks and contributes to process improvements. Works collaboratively in small project teams; may formally train less experienced team members. Comprehensive knowledge of fundamental theories, principles, and practices in the area of specialization. Identifies possible solutions for problems/issues of diverse scope using existing software solutions. Works under general supervision.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Build reports and data visualization utilizing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) data
  • Support management of CLR's HSE data systems and provide companywide technical support
  • Analytical support for HSE and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting
  • Creation and maintenance of company analytical dashboards in Spotfire and PowerBI
  • Provide support of organization's internal stakeholders data requests
  • Help identify ways to improve current HSE data processes and maintain accurate HSE data
  • Identify and mitigate data quality issues
  • Provide specialized reports for analysis, graphs and charts on injury trends, greenhouse gas emissions, spill volumes, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations to track and help achieve desired goals and targets
  • Provide expert level systems support to all HSE data users
  • Provide cross organization fusion and scrum team support
  • Implement automated solutions to streamline manual team processes

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral with all levels of internal/ external management
  • Proficient computer skills working with Microsoft suite; MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and SQL
  • Ability to generate visuals in SpotFire, PowerBI or similar software for data storytelling
  • Understanding system databases process improvement and implementation in a large organization
  • Understanding of Hadoop (Preferably Cloudera) and associated toolset
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational abilities to work cross functional
  • Proven team player with can-do attitude
  • Proven administrative, project management and organizational skills as a data analyst
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Strong analytical ability and drive for results with excellent attention to detail

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of related experience
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable MVR
  • An acceptable pre-employment background check and drug screen


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in Computer Science, Business, Environmental, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or Information Systems
  • Two (2) or more years of HSE systems or similar software experience as a data analyst
  • General understanding of oil and gas upstream operations
  • Advanced user of MS Excel, Power Point, and Word
  • Developer experience with MS Access, Microsoft Suite of Programs, and Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, SpotFire, PowerBI)
  • Intermediate to advanced SQL skills
  • Basic programming language skills, R or Python experience


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
