The Role
Under general direction, the HSSE Coordinator implements company safety policies and environmental health and safety support. The coordinator also coaches field operations, sales team members, and office staff to exhibit behaviors and work processes that create a safe work environment.
This position is a cross-functional leadership role. It will report to the Manager of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) and work closely with the other departments.
We are looking for an experienced and responsible HSSE Coordinator to join our team. As an HSSE Coordinator, you will facilitate compliance with occupational health and safety (OSHA) guidelines. Your main goal will be to ensure a safe working environment and prevent injuries and accidents.
Responsibilities:
- Enforce corporate compliance regulations (CCR) and occupational health and safety (OSHA) policies and programs.
- Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics.
- Prepare and conduct monthly safety meetings and trainings.
- Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
- Respond to incidents and accidents.
- Perform incident investigations and root cause analyses (RCAs).
- Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations to determine their causes.
- Conduct safety audits, safety observations, and safety walks.
- Enforce preventative measures to ensure workplace safety.
- Identify process bottlenecks and provide timely solutions.
- Ensure all employees comply with safety rules and regulations.
- Oversee workplace repairs, installations, and other activities that could impact employee safety.
- Teaching supervisors, managers, and other leaders in the company about health and safety standards
Requirements and Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience as an HSSE professional or in a similar role within a field-based work environment.
- Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials and practices.
- Familiarity with data analysis and statistical reporting.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Working knowledge of safety management information systems.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Team player with good time-management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
- Solar construction experience (preferred but not required).
- Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
- Proficient in MS Office
- Working knowledge of safety management information system
- Certificate in construction health and safety (OSHA 510 preferred)
