HSSE Supervisor – Houston
Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. General Description:
The HSSE Supervisor role will report to the Venture Global LNG Health & Safety Director. This position will be tasked with providing support to the Operations and Projects HSSE staff at VG’s sites and offices, provide direct support to site as required and lead the effort to remove HSSE administrative tasks such as procedure development, safety program development, data analysis etc. to allow the site HSSE staff to spend more time in the field at the point of risk
This position will be based in Houston, TX.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assists management team with the development of corporate and regional HSE goals.
• Develops, plans, and executes the strategies for multiple asset areas HSE programs, policies, and compliance programs.
• Assists all asset areas in the development and roll-out of HSE program changes.
• Develops program for HSE inspections and compliance assessments, communicates program status and ensures progress with correction action plans.
• Participates in HSE VG focused Audits and assists with drafting corrective action plans according to findings.
• Collects, compiles, and analyzes HSE data to support corporate and regional safety and operations analyses and reporting. This analysis on an ongoing basis will be compared to the safety programs and risk management focus in the field to ensure our focus matches out risk and strengthen or adjust our approach as needed.
• Supports the development and implementation of the company’s Safety Culture, and behavioral based safety programs.
• Assists with emergency response drills.
• Will support with severe weather/hurricane planning, preparation and execution as required.
• Supports required remediation plans as applicable.
• Supports the HSE elements of the contractor management program, particularly at the tender and prequalification stage.
• Support the business by performing HSE related contractor audits at tender/prequal. Will identify gaps in contractor HSE practices that present a risk and work with them and the business to develop an HSE improvement plan where required.
• As needed will audit contractors working for VG to ensure HSE practices are effective at managing risk and contractual HSE requirements are being met. Where deficiencies are identified, will lead the effort on behalf of the business to address the gaps.
