Hearst Corporation, a major consumer and business media company operating in the US and globally, is offering 10-week Technology Internship opportunity, where the technology interns will be exposed to and work with the wide range of systems, technology, processes, and workflows that help to solve complex business problems.

As a Hearst Technology Intern, you will transition what you learned in the college classroom or technical school to working in the real world. You will gain knowledge and insights related to how Hearst business units function and you will be expected to contribute to the overall success of the business. You will work with smart colleagues and gain exposure to core technology platforms, IT systems, network infrastructure, software development, support, maintenance, and operation. You will work on real-world projects and initiatives in collaboration with the teams across Hearst businesses. This is your chance to bring your ideas and solutions to life and grow your skillset.

What You'll Learn

Hearst Technology Services (HTS) is hiring a User Engagement intern for the Summer of 2023. We are seeking candidates who enjoy collaborating to arrive at innovative and intuitive solutions and are sensitive to diverse perspectives of stakeholders. Reporting to the current User Engagement & Marketing Specialist, the candidate will be responsible for drafting employee communications and brainstorming marketing efforts for technology initiatives.

• Draft written communications about technology initiatives using multiple channels (email, chatbot, etc.)

• Write and design step-by-step directions/documentation for Hearst employees

• Actively participate and bring ideas to brainstorming sessions to engage with Hearst employees

• Write engaging and clear updates to inform Hearst employees

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent education experience

• Some collegiate communication, writing or journalism classes are preferred

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent intrapersonal and collaboration skills with a willingness to work with others

• Organization and time management skills to complete tasks on time

• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools

In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in New York City. The reasonable estimate, if hired in New York City, is $20/Hour. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York City. If this role is open to candidates outside of New York City, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate's starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
