General Manager, HubÂ
Role SummaryÂ
Our client is looking for a General Manager. This role oversees the entire sort operations within a high volume and highly automated small package sort center. The GM ensures compliance with operational processes and safety procedures to meet on-time and error-free sort guidelines.Â
Job ResponsibilitiesÂ

Led a staff of 100+ internal employees, contingent employees, and managers with responsibilities to include but not limited to hiring, terminations, coaching, skills development, recognition and rewards, performance evaluation and management, discipline, addressing employee concerns, and staff productivityÂ
-
Work with the Lead Team to plan, organize, staff, direct, and control the day-to-day operations of the assigned sortÂ
-
Ensure the sort center is running per established safety, quality, and service standards while meeting cost and productivity goals are metÂ
-
Oversee or ensure daily visual inspections of loads to ensure proper quality for customers and/or vendorsÂ
-
Plan sort strategy based on projected volume, line haul timing, headcount, and other special circumstances and factorsÂ
-
Monitor location and timing of line hauls, making critical decisions regarding the timing of unloading, sorting, and reloadingÂ
-
Coordinate with engineering teams to facilitate, plan, and execute enhancements to the building capabilitiesÂ

Work in conjunction with maintenance teams to ensure that equipment is maintained and serviced regularly and properlyÂ
-
Create, develop, and implement best practices to drive efficiency and accuracy in sort operationsÂ
Skills & ProficienciesÂ
-
10+ years of supply chain, logistics, warehouse, and sortation managementÂ
-
Minimum of 5 years of people management experience in a logistics/3PL environment
-
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build professional rapport, effectively lead a team, and positively influence diverse groupsÂ
-
Ability to inspire a shared vision and empower and motivate a teamÂ
-
Proven ability to apply sound business judgment to establish and accomplish goalsÂ
-
Ability to effectively lead others, including leading and developing managers while managing conflictÂ
-
Professional verbal and written communication skills to communicate with various audiences and ability to effectively provide employees instruction on process and practiceÂ

Effective at meeting deadlines and reporting results and KPIs regularlyÂ

Ability to understand and operate automated sort systemsÂ

Ability/Oversee the PM of equipmentÂ

Command of efficient floor loading and palletizing proceduresÂ

Understanding of P&L and ability to manage Costs of Facility, Personnel, Supplies and EquipmentÂ

Customer service skills necessary to effectively and professionally respond to requests and issuesÂ

Ability to read, interpret, and draw conclusions from quantitative and qualitative data and written informationÂ

Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications, experience with common supply chain and logistics software preferredÂ
