Job Description

SCOPE:

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager or his/her designee, responsible to perform duties to recruit and hire employees within the non-Donated Goods, and Retail divisions. Support scheduling of interviewing, process background checks, process new hire paperwork and ensure the recruitment process is effective and efficient for all parties involved.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Facilitate the recruitment efforts for the organization by utilizing the Application Flow log system.
  2. Review applications for the pre-screening process; forwards all internal and external applications/resumes to hiring managers for consideration.
  3. Process background checks per request of managers. Review all background checks for clearance and communicate clearances to management; Liaise with other managers regarding hiring recommendations or concerns. Communicates rejections to applicants/employees according to FCRA guidelines.
  4. Attend company and local job fairs.
  5. Conduct monthly audit for Level 2 background rescreening as required and notify employees as applicable of rescreening requirements. Communicate clearances to management and rejections to applicants/employees according to FCRA guidelines.
  6. Verify I9 documents and e-verify for all new hires within required timelines.
  7. Process all new hire paperwork and forward to Payroll for processing; log/track missing paperwork on excel spreadsheet and make request to hiring manager (log communication).
  8. Follow up on any discrepancies throughout the employment process with applicants, vendors and/or managers.
  9. On board all new hires and ensure all proper employment documentation is completed and collected.
  10. Generate and process purchase orders.
  11. Participate and assist in any range of administrative or clerical projects for non-Donated Goods, and Retail divisions.

  2. Perform or assist with any duties or operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements.
  3. Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules, keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  4. Participate in any variety of meetings and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies

 


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource management or related field preferred; or equivalent work experience and/ or education.
  2. 2+ years of Human Resource generalist experience required.
  3. Knowledge and support of ADA, and HIPAA.
  4. Knowledge and support of federal, state, and local fair employment laws.
  5. Knowledge and support of the organization’s Affirmative Action goals.
  6. Must exhibit strong assessment/analysis skills, good judgment, problem-solving skills and flexibility in addition to excellent customer service skills.
  7. Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office programs, with particular emphasis in Microsoft Excel.
  8. Must be capable of handling confidential information in an appropriate manner.
  9. Must be an excellent brand ambassador of the organization.
  10. Must have excellent organizational, verbal, listening, written communication skills, and social interactive skills.
  11. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  12. Must be able to set priorities and manage multiple tasks.
  13. Valid Florida driver’s license with acceptable driving record for insurability under company insurance and ability to travel to outlying locations.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. General office environment
  2. Frequent walking, standing, stretching, bending.
  3. Occasional lifting and moving up to 20 pounds.

 

 

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:

Computer and peripherals, word processing, spreadsheets and software programs, safety equipment, and a variety of standard office equipment.
