Human Resource Lead - Remote & Haiti
Job Description
Amentum, a large government contract company, is seeking a Human Resources Lead to support a pending contract award in Haiti. This will be a remote position, with the possibility of travel to Haiti as needed.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources (HR) Lead will support the HR Manager and Program leadership in accomplishing Amentum contractual requirements successfully for the LOGCAP contract. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Providing proactive and timely HR support as well as guidance focusing on employee relations, company policy and procedure, performance management, and compliance with all host country laws and applicable US laws for all personnel in theatre
- Being proactive, resourceful, and efficient while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Coordinating with Talent Acquisition staff to support and contribute as needed to the recruitment process; creating requisitions, and processing candidates
- Overseeing onboarding new hires and ensuring that new employees understand the company policies/procedures and benefits
- Acting as liaison between employees and Amentum Corporate Benefits and Corporate Payroll
- Conducting investigations and documenting investigations related to employee complaints/problems
- Drafting employee corrective actions that align with the company policies, practices and culture, and creating performance improvement plans when needed
- Other duties as assigned by leadership
QUALIFICATIONS
- Three years of relevant experience
- Experience working with human resources principles, practices and procedures
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in employee relations (including investigations, recommendations, etc.)
- Experience working with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), preferably Workday
- Must possess and demonstrate solid critical thinking and analytical skills
- Must regularly demonstrate effective problem solving, conflict resolution, and relationship building skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of Federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with people at every level and to represent the company in a positively
- Strong writing and documentation skills
- Highly organized, able to meet deadlines and manage shifting priorities
- High degree of personal integrity; ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must be able to function in an office setting, answer the phone, use office equipment, etc.
- Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid US or local driver's license and US passport
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment as required
- Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide)
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience providing excellent customer service in supporting contract responsibilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules and under pressure of deadlines while maintaining performance standards
EDUCATION
- HS diploma or GED required
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field preferred
- Preferred: GPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, or other related certifications
WORKING AND LIVING CONDITIONS
This position may be located in an environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this environment. Employees must be willing and able to perform physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum; climbing in and out of equipment; crawling; and working outdoors. This includes being able to lift and carry 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time and being capable of running and 'duck & cover' during emergencies without putting oneself or others at risk.
