Job Description
Current Media Group (CMG) is a collection of direct mail and online brands offering products direct to consumers. We are well known for products ranging from fun and trendy gifts to stationery and personalized gifts. Many of our unique and creative cards and gifts are designed and manufactured at our Colorado Springs, CO location.
We are looking for a strong detail-oriented HR Manager. The Human Resource Manager leads Human Resource practices which focus on creating an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement, and employee development. This position will report directly to the CEO.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement programs to improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solutions; coaching and counseling managers and employees
- Protect the organizations value by keeping information confidential
- Recruit, interview, and make hiring recommendations when appropriate and conduct reference and background checks on employment candidates
- Manage the seasonal recruiting process for the whole organization
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives
- Prepare or maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers or promotions, using human resources management system software
- Provide management with information or training related to interviewing, performance appraisals, counseling techniques, or documentation of performance issues
- Interpret and explain human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations
- Coordinate with department managers and drive an effective employee performance management system, including conflict management, disciplinary action, and performance review, compensation, and employee recognition programs
- Maintain and update human resource documents, such as organizational charts, employee handbooks or directories, or performance evaluation forms
- Administer and manage payroll for approximately 130 hourly and salaried employees and up to 150 seasonal employees
- Manage safety program for the facility and the emergency response team
- Manage one direct report for recruiting and payroll
- Complete regulatory reports (i.e., censuses)
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or organizational development
- 5+ years of progressive experience in human resources, including payroll and recruiting
- Experience within a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment is preferred
- Experience managing safety is preferred
- Must have problem solving skills and be able to deal with complicated, sensitive and confidential issues
- Must have knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, and personnel information systems
- Must have effective communication, organization, problem solving, interpersonal and team building skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a rapidly changing environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to navigate in high stress situations
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
Salary Range: $75,000-$90,000
