Job Description

We are looking for a Human Resources and Accounting Administrator to join the Business Operations practice in our St. Louis, MO office. As a member of CLA's BizOps practice, you will be a member of the CLA outsourced accounting service team and will work directly with a local nonprofit client.

In this role, you will work independently at the client location, supported and supervised by a CLA Controller and client CFO. You will have accounting and human resource responsibilities including reporting, compliance and special projects.

This position provides an outstanding opportunity to grow your career as you contribute to the success of this organization. This is a full-time, long-term career opportunity working for CLA in providing these services to the nonprofit organization; it is not an outsourced temporary position.

Job Description

  • Work in conjunction with CFO to administer personnel policies and implement HR initiatives and processes
  • Prepare payroll, accounts payable and monthly journal entries
  • Accounting and human resources reporting and compliance filings

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree is required. Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • 2+ years accounting experience
  • Relevant experience in non-profit or government organization is strongly desired.
  • Aptitude to develop a thorough working knowledge of accounting software and systems
  • Proficiency with applicable software (including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc).

Skills/Knowledge

  • Sharpness toward technology and bettering processes and reporting
  • Affinity for human resources and compliance as a key part of responsibilities
  • Strong organization skills/goal orientation/self-motivation.
  • Ability to handle pressure in a positive professional manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Communication that is clear, concise, and considerate of the needs of others.
