Human Resources Associate
Job Description
BITCO Corporation, headquartered in Davenport, Iowa, is seeking a Human Resources Associate to join our Human Resources team.BITCO provides quality insurance services to special industries including construction, forest products and oil gas.This is an on-site position located at our home office in Davenport, IA.
Position Summary :
As part of the Human Resources team, this position provides administrative support across multiple functions within HR, including recruiting and hiring, benefits, employee relations, training and development, and employee records. In addition to supporting ongoing processes and programs, this position performs ad hoc duties and assists with team projects within HR.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR files, records, and documentation (paper and electronic)
- Process documentation and employee changes in the HR system of record, as well as all other systems of record
- Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately
- Assist with day-to-day questions and inquiries from employees about policies, benefits, hiring, training, and other common topics
- Administer and process requests from retirees on legacy retirement plans and benefits
- Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, orientation and training programs, and other employee/organizational initiatives
- Provide administrative support of the performance evaluation process, including providing notices and tracking completion
- Help administer various employee programs, such as service recognition, community service, referrals, relocation, and fitness programs
- Assist with various compliance-related tasks, such as updating labor law posters, policies, required training, and employee notices and communications
- Monitor a shared inbox and distribute requests and inquiries within the HR team
- Work effectively with other departments to ensure employee processes are handled appropriately
- Assist in ad-hoc HR projects and tasks
- All other functions and duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in business-related field
- 1-2 years of previous HR Assistant experience strongly preferred
- Ability to effectively manage confidential information and sensitive situations with tact and professionalism
- Strong attention to detail and level of accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization
- Proven ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities at one time
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with MS Office and other business communication systems
- Must be flexible and willing to support a variety of objectives, as needed
