Summary:
The Child Mind Institute is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Human Resources Business Partner who has a passion for HR operations to join our Human Resources team. This is a great opportunity to support one of our new global initiatives. Working with the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Business Partner will serve as a business partner to support and promote Child Mind Institute HR initiatives. The Human Resources Business Partner position is key member of the Human Resources team. In collaboration with the Director of Human Resources and HR team members, the Human Resources Business Partner will build and enhance HR programs, processes and tools to align with Child Mind Institute's mission. The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for an array of human resource functions to support the business and the workforce: talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, learning and development, compliance, HR policies and company guidelines, retention and culture. This role works closely with other internal departments such as payroll, benefits, accounting, and finance.
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this is an exempt, full-time position located in our NYC headquarters.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure company policies and procedures align with best practices, and are compliant with all Federal, State and local laws and regulations. Keep abreast of the changing HR landscape and provide guidance on how they impact the organization.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to become a trusted HR advisor; provide HR policy guidance and interpretation; listen to concerns and work to find solutions that improve the workplace experience, boost performance and retention.
  • Guide and work with the Global Practice hiring team to support recruitment, prepare job descriptions and conduct job analysis, offer letter generation, hiring process, manage and track onboarding process.
    1. Liaise with Director of Talent on managing the VISA process.
    2. Coordinate staff hired through Employers-of-Record (EOR).
  • Involvement with managing the performance evaluation process, organizing performance reviews, and ensuring the timely completion. Guide and coach managers in staff performance and creating positive working relationships.
  • Working with the Director of HR, assist in handling employee relations, to include recognition, engagement, culture, conflict management and investigations.
  • Provide guidance to employees in various HR-related topics such as onboarding, policies, and benefits and assist in resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Promote HR and DEI programs, apply HR policies and practices to foster an efficient, productive, and inclusive workplace.
  • Assist in the development of training on HR processes, policies, and technology; deliver to employees and managers.
  • Compile reports and prepare monthly dashboards. Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions for specific departments and the organization.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and services performed.
  • Travel to our offices in New York City and California
  • Other related HR duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources management or related field or commensurate work experience.
  • 5 years of progressive HR Business Partner experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of Global HR experience. Familiarity with EOR preferred is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local employment laws.
  • Must be well organized and detail oriented. Strong project management skills a plus. Ability to leverage technology to maximize efficiency.
  • Trustworthy; must possess integrity and discretion with highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Exceptional, quality customer service and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to balance the details and big picture without losing perspective.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible and resilient.
  • Working knowledge of an HRIS. ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) a plus.
  • Previous healthcare and/or nonprofit experience a huge plus.
