OVERVIEW:
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will align closely with the business to help drive Life Fitness's strategic objectives through various talent strategies. The HRBP, with managers and leaders from Supply Chain, Quality, Strategic Sourcing, and MDM, provides guidance on a wide variety of topics and develops strategic solutions in the areas of talent acquisition, talent management, learning & development, employee engagement, performance management, total rewards, employee relations and compliance. The HRBP will also execute on projects both as a project manager and as an active team participant.
The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills with a demonstrated track record of having led cross-functional projects/implementations. Additionally, reporting to the HR Director, Global Operations, they will be highly collaborative, passionate about learning, enjoy the challenge of solving complex problems, be curious about business issues outside their area of expertise, and have experience as a generalist with a scope of responsibility that provided exposure to the wide expanse of all HR disciplines.

Experience:
Seven (7)+ years total HR-related experience required, with at least three (3) years of experience in an HR Business Partner/Generalist role preferred.
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources (preferred) or related discipline (required). HR certification and/or higher-level education preferred.
Location:
This role is based in the Life Fitness global headquarters in Rosemont, IL, and will occasionally (less than once a month) office in our Franklin Park, IL, location.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, manage and execute project-related HR initiatives as assigned.
- Proactively develop, recommend, and implement HR strategic plans to support the business's objectives.
- Guide managers through HR-related processes such as promotions/transfers, talent acquisition, performance management, recognition, and compensation planning - review changes and coordinate approvals.
- Partner with managers via talent review, succession planning, and other means to retain, develop and motivate people to achieve their fullest potential.
- Partner with managers on assessing talent and making key decisions on hiring, promotions, and compensation.
- Enhance the level of employee relations and development support, by fostering a high level of employee trust, while providing appropriate coaching and advice to managers.
- Build management responsibility and capability for developing employees and managing issues. May prepare/review corrective action notices when necessary.
- Provide support for recruiting and engage in the talent acquisition, orientation, and onboarding processes to properly select and onboard new team members.
- Administer and interpret processes, policies, and programs to ensure they are administered in a fair and consistent manner.
- Collaborate with HR team members and liaison between HR and business team members.
- Maintain knowledge on current HR practices, legal requirements, and multi-state compliance. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and policy-related requirements.
- Leverage data analytics to make strategic and tactical business decisions.
- Perform administrative duties to support the execution of operational HR activities.
- Manages and executes project-related HR initiatives and performs all other related duties and projects as assigned.

- Collaborative and flexible work style with willingness to pitch in wherever help is needed across the team.
- Broad knowledge of employee relations concepts, legislation, and practices with the ability to effectively investigate sensitive matters. Thorough understanding of federal employment legislation including Title VII, EEO, ADA, FMLA and FLSA.
- Can research information and analyze evidence to arrive at valid conclusions, sound recommendations and plans of action.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven experience in leading project management efforts required, having done so across cross-functional or global teams preferred.
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with changing needs.
- Strong negotiation, decision making, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to overcome unforeseen obstacles.
- Technically savvy, including intermediate proficiency in HRM systems, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word required. Must possess above-average presentation skills. Workday experience preferred.
- High levels of ethics, personal discipline, and professionalism.
