Human Resources Business Partner - Birmingham
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is part of the Southern Nuclear HR team that currently supports more than 400 SNC employees and their leaders in Engineering, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, and Security. The HRBP works with employees and leaders, including several VPs, on matters related to performance management, talent development, staffing, workforce planning, HR policies and governance, people health metrics and a variety of other HR-related issues. This position reports to the HR Director but will work independently with all levels of leadership.
The successful candidate will not only have a background as an HR partner, but will have the ability to consult with managers on talent and staffing, facilitate high-level team interventions, and influence others through trust and relationship-building. Experience with an organization that has been through change and the ability to positively influence change is a plus.

Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred.
- HR knowledge in talent management, employee and labor relations, performance management, staffing and other general HR concentrations.
- Consulting, team building, critical thinking, presentation, facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills are required.
- Experience in a manufacturing, plant or utility environment is strongly preferred.
- HR Experience with union and non-union employees is a plus.
- Knowledge of HR disciplines related to compensation and benefits, employment law, performance management, affirmative action, change management, workforce planning, leadership development, talent management, and organizational effectiveness.
- Ability to integrate HR goals with business initiatives.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and ability/willingness to manage multiple tasks required.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships at all levels required, providing consultation for all levels, as well.
- Oriented to deliver strong results and outcomes and has ability to influence and move initiatives forward.
- Ability to act as a change agent providing support and mechanics to business unit management in their efforts to implement changes.
- Ability to facilitate business and workforce planning sessions and to provide consulting on process improvement initiatives, organizational diagnostics/analysis, change management and team effectiveness.
