POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Business Partner provides broad based professional human resources support and other duties as assigned to support the overall business. This position will partner with all HR functions to implement practices, policies and procedures in order to be responsive to the Hospital's goals, culture and competitive practices. Advises and counsels managers and supervisors regarding job performance and behavioral issues concerning their employees and recommends appropriate courses of action. All HR staff members must be focused on the points of integration for seamless patient care, employee effectiveness and experience.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
- Works directly with the HR Business Partners and Management to effectively promote positive employee relations.
- Maintains visibility with all employees and addresses any issues and concerns that are identified in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensures compliance with state and federal laws through efficient administration of company HR policies, procedures, programs and initiatives.
- Responds to inquiries from employees, managers and/or other parties (e.g. leave eligibility, payroll issues, etc.) for the purpose of resolving issues, facilitating communication, and/or providing information or direction.
- Advises and counsels managers and supervisors regarding job performance and behavioral issues concerning their employees. Recommends appropriate courses of action and works with managers and supervisors to document performance and/or disciplinary issues.
- Conducts investigations regarding complaints of wrong doing (such as sexual harassment, etc.); collaborates with appropriate HR team members to determine appropriate resolutions to investigations.
- Independently manages basic investigations, bringing investigations to closure rapidly and definitively and collaborates with appropriate HR team members to determine appropriate resolutions as needed.
- Analyzes casework trends to produce proactive recommendations to HR and the business.
- Assists managers and supervisors to draft discipline memos and termination letters for review. Reviews and works with Director to approve all involuntary terminations, including layoffs, consistent with Hospital policies and procedures.
- Partners with the Employee & Labor Relations department of complex employee relations issues and union activities.
- Conducts employee meetings and assists in training and development sessions on various topics as needed.
- Develops solid understanding of and ability to interpret both business and HR metrics to drive results.
- Counsels leaders through Human Resource topics such as: workforce planning, staffing, performance management, employee/labor relations, and overall culture of engagement.
- Undertakes special projects on behalf of HR and associated client groups.
- Ensures compliance with human resources policies and procedures.
- Partners with client groups to develop and implement project plans for HR related initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Education - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of two years of experience in a related human resources role. Experience working with a represented and non-represented environment preferred
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Strong problem solving, analytical and technical skills
- Understanding of continuous improvement strategies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
