Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
In the first 30 days, you will:
- Participate in EvolvED, our new hire orientation program
- Become embedded with the current People team, familiarizing yourself with roles and processes
- Develop a deep understanding of Evolv’s mission, understand our product, services, and values
- Come up to speed with the business
- Develop a regular cadence for meeting with and advising various teams within the company.
Within 3 months, you will:
- Immerse yourself in the company's culture by interacting with employees at all levels, understanding their perspectives, and assessing the overall work environment. This will help in tailoring HR strategies that align with the company's culture and values.
- Evaluate existing HR policies, procedures, and systems to identify areas for improvement or updates needed to meet current organizational goals and legal compliance.
- Build strong relationships with senior leadership, department heads, and key stakeholders. This is crucial for understanding various departmental needs and for effective future collaboration.
- Review workforce analytics to understand demographics, turnover rates, employee satisfaction levels, etc. This data will inform strategies for talent management, retention, and recruitment.
- Based on the understanding gained, start formulating a strategic HR plan that aligns with the company's business objectives. This may include workforce planning, talent management strategies, employee relations, compensation design, organizational design, and employee engagement initiatives.
By the end of the first year, you will have:
- Improved employee satisfaction and engagement levels
- Successfully implemented talent acquisition and retention strategies
- Enhanced organizational performance through effective performance management processes
- Ensured compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations
- Developed a comprehensive compensation plan design that aligns with our compensation philosophy and business objectives
- Developed and maintained a positive and inclusive workplace culture
- Contributed to the achievement of business goals through strategic HR initiatives

Human Resources Strategy
- Play a pivotal role in aligning HR strategies with our company’s overarching business objectives.
- Anticipate future organizational requirements and craft proactive HR initiatives that drive business results and financial success.
- Employ a data-driven approach for decision making.
- Analyze HR metrics to derive strategic insights, shaping our future HR landscape.
Change Management and Adaptability
- Lead and manage significant organizational changes with skill and sensitivity.
- Guide employees smoothly through transitions, minimizing resistance.
Employee Relations Expertise
- Handle complex employee relations issues with a blend of fairness and diplomatic skill.
- Implement strategies focused on boosting employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Mediate and resolve workplace conflicts effectively and impartially.
Leadership Excellence, Communication & Influence
- Excel in forging and nurturing robust relationships with both internal and external partners.
- Collaborate effectively with various department heads, executives, team members, and other key decision-makers, leveraging negotiation skills and ability to influence as appropriate.
- Help lead our HR team with exceptional leadership skills, inspiring and driving organizational change.
- Champion a positive, inclusive workplace culture through exemplary leadership.
- Articulate HR initiatives and policies effectively to a wide array of stakeholders.
Legal and Compliance Knowledge
- Lead compensation plan design efforts in alignment with business goals and objectives and FLSA compliance
- Solid grasp of employment laws and regulations, ensuring compliant HR practices.
- Ensure HR policies adhere to legal standards, safeguarding the organization.

- You will be joining the People Operations team and reporting to the Head of People.

Where is the role located?
- This role is based out of our HQ in Waltham, MA with some flexibility in being remote some days.
What is the salary range?
- The base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$222,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
