This is not a fully remote role. All applicants must be able work onsite with our human resources team at our downtown Chicago office 2 days per week.

Job Summary:

RedShelf’s Human Resources team is focused on what our people need, and how we can provide it. The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for both administrative and strategic initiatives focused mainly on onboarding and development, benefit administration, compliance, and recruiting. Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Support and drive the RedShelf mission, vision, and people strategy to support our Company playbook
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new-hire orientation, compliance training, and exit interviews
  • Manage the administrative portion and rollout of RedShelf’s employee review cycle and performance management discussions
  • Partner with hiring managers, VP of HR, and Administrative Assistant to support RedShelf’s recruitment process
  • Responsible for leading the full cycle benefits process – enrollment, reconciliation, vendor management, open enrollment negotiations, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal policies and payroll taxes

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in progressive HR roles participating in a variety of HR operational functions 
  • Knowledge of Illinois and national laws and regulations related to employment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required with an emphasis on ethics and cultural awareness
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated understanding of a tech startup environment
  • Ability to build strong relationships with peers and senior leadership
  • Can navigate effectively at various levels of the organization and comfortable with ambiguity

 

Other Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or 3-4 years demonstrated experience required, PHR or SPHR designation is a plus
  • Knowledge and appreciation of the advances in higher educational software, course materials, and digital publishing is a plus
  • Background and/or experience in educational technology and/or publishing
  • Comfort and/or experience in a fast-paced, growing environment
  • Ideal candidate is self-sufficient and highly motivated, self-directed and possess high energy and a passion for RedShelf
