The Role

The HR Generalist role will report directly to the Senior Global Manager of Human Resources and will be responsible for implementing an overall employee experience that allows our employees to thrive, starting on day one. This critical role plays an important part of the overall People Strategy of 8th Light, connecting globally with 8th Lights regularly.

As the HR Generalist, you will have a strong role in administering policies and procedures, onboarding/ offboarding employees, talent review facilitation, benefits administration, employee relations, community and connections, and HRIS management as we grow our footprint in both North America and Europe. Who you are

In support of our culture and in alignment with our People Strategy, we are seeking a full-time Human Resources Generalist to support the HR function for all our global employees. To do so effectively you will have:

  • 3 - 7 years of experience in human resources with a broad set of skills in benefits administration, employee relations, employment law, policies and procedures, talent reviews, and HRIS systems management. Global experience is required. 
  • Strong experience administering benefits and compensation programs for a globally dispersed workforce.  Will be the first point of contact for answering benefits questions so must have strong understanding of US compensation and benefits and at least high-level knowledge of UK and EU compensation and benefits. 
  • Proven success in creating an exceptional employee experience through your expertise in supporting proactively and as a problem solver. Preferably in the tech industry. 
  • Proficiency with utilizing technology to analyze data and derive insights to inform people operations processes and offerings.  Must be proficient with MS Excel and have strong ability to perform functions such as v-lookup,  index matching, filtering, and pivot tables.  
  • A proven record of incorporating and supporting DEI&B affinity groups and diversity efforts with an empathic lens. 
  • A goal oriented approach. You have supported and/or championed team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) or Objective Key Results (OKRs).
  • Must be comfortable and have experience working in a dynamic, quick-moving environment.  You are comfortable being resourceful, raising issues quickly while placing a high value on moving forward together, creating allies and strategic partners.
  • Able to operate with a high level of business acumen including timely and confidential communication with diligence and understanding of urgent matters.
  • Excellent relationship building skills, trusty-worthy and focused on cultivating relationships with exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Certification as an HR Professional is strongly encouraged.

 What you’ll do:

  • Own the global new hire onboarding and off-boarding processes.
  • Own the employee change management tasks such as: leave management, relocations, promotions, talent review processes, compensation or talent changes.
  • Partner with the Finance department to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing by delivering necessary updates and information.
  • Oversee the creation, organization, and maintenance of employee records and workflows, ensuring processes are conducted as automated as possible with the highest degree of accuracy and completeness.
  • Manages employee relations cases, seeking to achieve a mutually beneficial outcome where each employee feels respected, heard, seen, and safe.
  • Conduct HR reporting where data is analyzed and insights are derived as it relates to people operations.
  • Own benefits administration, including open enrollment, managing the end-to-end administration of benefits, ensuring accuracy and timely service. Serve as the first point of contact for all employee questions while creating a self-service employee model.  
  • Benchmark compensation across locations using the Radford compensation studies in order to ensure equity across employees.
  • Submit local, state, and federal reports in a complete and timely manner in order to ensure compliance. 
  • Take a proactive approach in identifying potential compliance risks and addressing them preemptively while monitoring changes in labor laws and promptly implement updates as required i.e. labor law posters, internal information/documentation, etc.
  • Implement and enforce measures to safeguard sensitive HR information and maintain data confidentiality.
  • Manage and monitor access to HR systems, ensuring only authorized personnel have appropriate permissions.

Compensation: The salary range for the role depending on years of experience and geo-location will range from $65,000- 85,000
