The Role
ASTRALABS is looking for an HR Manager / People Ops Manager for its multiple divisions and wholly-owned subsidiaries globally. The largest of these is Newchip, a global virtual startup accelerator with the goal of providing world-changing early-stage startups with the tools, skills, mentorship, and networks necessary to successfully raise, build and scale their businesses to eventual acquisition. This role will start with a core focus on Newchip and expand as we expand our portfolio.
We are looking for an HR leader to oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes. What is an HR leader do? To us, an HR leader is the go-to person for all employee-related issues and proactive management to drive the growth and performance of teams alongside culture. This means that your HR leader duties will involve managing activities such as job design, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training & development, and talent management.
The job of an HR leader is critical to business success. People are our most important asset and you'll be the one to ensure we have a happy and productive workplace where everyone works to realize our established mission and objectives. Promoting corporate values and shaping a positive culture is a vital aspect of a complete HR leader's job description and specification. This role is preferred in-office but for certain candidates is available remote.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing issues, grievances, or other areas of growth
- Manage the recruitment and selection process with the recruitment team and leadership to ensure values-based hiring
- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital
- Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization
- Nurture a positive working environment and culture that lives our values
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance and retention when needed
- Maintain pay plan and benefits program to ensure recruitment of top talent and retention of it
- Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs
- Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management
Requirements
- Proven working experience as HR Manager or other HR Executive Role
- People oriented but results driven toward organizational directives
- Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases
- Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
- Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
- In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
- Degree in Human Resources or related field
