OPPORTUNITY
The primary purpose of this position is to provide support to the HR team while gaining experience in all different aspects of HR.
This role is an in-person, summer internship. There may be the option to continue on as HR co-op student during the school year.
As HR Intern, primary responsibilities include:
- Providing administrative support to all HR team members
- Participating in social media planning and execution to enhance employment brand
- Maintaining HRIS including but not limited to: uploading employee documents, ensuring current employment law posters are present, and helping to support data integrity
- Supporting the recruiting team by updating job descriptions, posting jobs, and sending completed quality of hire surveys for new hires
- This may include sourcing for candidates and adding them to our applicant tracking system
- Supporting talent management through the system transition for the individual development planning process
- Organizing and maintaining personnel records and I-9 documents; filing documents in personnel records
- Supporting the new hire process by tracking cost per hire, preparing welcome boxes for distribution, distributing welcome boxes to new hires, and monitoring apparel orders
- Assisting with virtual training preparation and delivery
- Various project work such as employee mailings, data entry, and assisting with audits
- Other special projects like New Employee Orientation, research new or different program opportunities etc.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
- This position reports to the Corporate HR Manager.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA
- Currently pursuing a degree in HR in either an undergraduate or graduate program
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must possess basic math aptitude
- Good record keeping and organizational skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Orientation to exceeding expectations of both internal and external customers
- Must possess the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other job-related software
- Must have a professional, positive, and confident demeanor and excellent people skills
