How you will help us create value together:

As a Human Resources Intern, you will be responsible for a range of support activities for the Corporate HR team. While the Corporate HR team provides HR support to roughly 1,100 employees globally, the HR intern will work on tasks that directly support the Milwaukee office. The HR Intern will also gain exposure to a variety of generalist related tasks, including HR data administration, employee engagement activities, and collaboration with HR CoEs (Centers of Excellence.)

This internship is available for Summer 2023 and will be based onsite at our South Harbor location in Milwaukee's Harbor District!

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Gain competency utilizing the HRIS system, SuccessFactors, to process record changes for employees and contingent workers. This may include ownership of the contingent worker entry and offboard process for corporate functions.
  • Support and participate in the Milwaukee University Relations & Internship Program, which may include event planning and execution, leading engagement activities, and preparing for Fall career fairs (infrequent local travel may be necessary)
  • Maintain the filing of human resources personnel paperwork. May assist with scanning or organizing existing personnel files
  • Help coordinate various HR Team events (local and regional)
  • Facilitate HR Team communications via email and Microsoft Teams Channels
  • Observe and/or participate in recruitment intake meetings with recruiters, HR Business Partners, and hiring manager for open positions
  • Assist the Corporate HR team with various reporting, research, and/or project requests as needed
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality in dealing with company and employee information
  • Learn HR generalist tasks within a global business

Qualifications we look for

Basic Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, or similar, from an accredited college or university
  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior level student in good academic standing; rising Juniors and Seniors preferred
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team towards a goal
  • Excellent organization and personal time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess effective problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to be creative and resourceful when needed
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in an HR and/or administrative department, customer service industry
  • Active involvement and/or leadership roles in student organizations or athletics team also accepted
  • Understanding of Human Resources practices and terminology
  • Basic understanding of HR/employment related laws and regulations
  • Self-confidence and professionalism to interact with employees at all levels of the organization, both vertically and horizontally
