THE ROLE
As the Human Resources Manager for AXS Australia and New Zealand, youâll work closely with the CEO for Australia and New Zealand and the AXS Global HR team to deliver a âbest in classâ employee experience. You will be responsible for building the HR organization for Australia and New Zealand. Youâll support our Heads of Departments and business leaders to deliver this experience and get the most out of their teams, ensuring that we lead and manage with an inclusive management style, living our values and helping to shape our culture.

You will have a strong passion for creating a culture in line with our AXS values. Youâll have experience of working with multiple teams in different locations and a strong understanding of Australian employment law. You will be comfortable building a department from the ground up. You may have worked in a bigger team and are looking for your next challenge to step up and build a department within a growing division of a global organisation. Youâll be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within global, Australian, and operational business teams. Youâll be highly organised and personable and have proven ability to establish good professional relationships with colleagues at all levels. You will have a successful track record of growing people, and the ability to influence and drive change.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- To provide generalist HR support to AXS and support the CEO Australia and NZ in delivering the HR & People Strategy in line with Global and Australian initiatives.
- To partner with and support heads of departments and business leaders, overseeing all employee relations matters and processes with their teams, providing relevant advice, coaching, and training to people managers.
- Talent acquisition. Work closely with hiring managers to support key recruitment activity.
- To support scoping and delivery of HR projects and initiatives within AXS Australia. This currently includes a focus on employee wellbeing, retention and development and fostering an inclusive culture.
- Creating programs that enhance our culture and are in line with our AXS values that result in attracting and retaining top talent.

MAIN ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Â
- Act as role model and champion of our Company values, integrating them into local processes, driving culture award engagement and recognition.
- Work closely with AXS Global HR Team on key projects and initiatives to deliver the HR & People strategy.
- Oversee all basic employee relations matters, specifically but not limited to disciplinary and grievance, absence and performance management.
- Take an active involvement with our Global Employee Engagement Surveys, building and managing action plans with relevant stakeholders, tracking performance and leading business wide communications.
- Drive employee engagement and inspire a high performance work culture.
- Advising and coaching line managers on policy and procedure in line with employment law and Company policy; partnering with Heads of Department to ensure people and processes are being proactively managed.
- Support and promote staff development and training, working closely with AXS Global HR teams on key learning and development initiatives and implement within the Australia office.
- Keeping abreast of legal updates and changes in legislation; communicating as necessary to the business, responsible for updating and promoting relevant HR policies in line.
- Support the processing of AXS payroll.
- Manage the full employee life cycle from hiring, onboarding and exiting.
- Champion and guide DE&I activity, working closely with AEG and AXS global teams to deliver initiatives and drive continuous learning and development.
- Continuously seek ways to improve personal, team and business performance and always work towards the global company goals and objectives set out by AXS.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 5+ yearâs experience working in an HR capacity.
- Recognised, relevant HR qualification.
- Comfortable being both strategic and tactical. Open to hands-on HR Management responsibilities
- Organised and strong multi-tasking capability. Needs to be a self-starter with the ability to manage a varied and changeable workload.
- Natural ability to communicate and manage well at various organisational levels and with all members of the team.
- Able to build strong relationships with all members of the team.
- Excellent all-round knowledge of IT, including all Microsoft Office Applications.
- Setting up an HR department in a startup environment is a plus.
- Technology industry experience preferred.
