Description

We are an independent insurance agency consulting firm that operates with a virtual workforce of over 100 employees in 23 states. Our team of experts is dedicated to providing exceptional service to our clients, and we are committed to hiring the best talent to join our team.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR Manager to oversee all aspects of our human resources operations. The ideal candidate will hold a PHR certification and have a proven track record of success in managing HR functions for a remote workforce. This is a full-time, remote position.

The HR Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of Angela Adams Consulting's human resources functions, including recruitment and retention, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, compliance, and policy development.

Success in this role is defined as:

  • Oversight of HR policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the company's goals and values.
  • Ensuring we have the workforce ready for our growing business.
  • Manage employee benefits, including health insurance, 401(k), and other company-sponsored programs.
  • Develop and manage employee performance review and evaluation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and counsel to employees and managers on HR-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external HR-related vendors and service providers.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for employees.

Compliance:

  • Ensure that the organization complies with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. This includes maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, conducting periodic audits, and providing training and guidance to managers and employees.
  • Notify management when there are changes or new regulations that will impact our staff/company.
  • Ensure proper registration and documentation with each state for which we have employees.
  • Manage HR Handbook and Employee Agreements ensuring they are compliant with state and federal laws, approved by our attorney, and properly maintained with all staff.

Employee Relations:

  • Work with Regional Managers to identify and coach employees that are not meeting expectations
  • Address personnel issues, ensuring proper documentation, promotions, and disciplinary action as necessary
  • Review the Journal notes to provide feedback to managers and spot issues early. Assist as needed.
  • Conduct employee surveying via Paylocity for regions and assess feedback/make recommendations on what can be done to improve or maintain morale
  • Review employee evaluations and coach leadership team on objective performance evaluation, adherence to standards, and delivery.
  • Identify personnel that need to progress and ensure they are added to the appropriate training tracks and are making progress
  • Work with Employee Development Specialist to ensure training is occurring and employees are progressing as intended
  • Provide content for Buzz as it relates to HR.

Hiring and Terminations:

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent for the organization. This includes identifying the most effective recruitment channels, developing job descriptions, and establishing selection criteria to ensure a diverse and inclusive workforce.
  • Work with Regional Managers to proactively address growth and staffing needs.
  • Manage open positions and ensure we evaluate and move qualified candidates through the pipeline.
  • Ensure proper offboarding of resigning, retiring, or terminated employees.
  • Conduct exit interviews

Paylocity Administrator:

  • Manage relationship with Paylocity ensuring we get the most from our investment in this software.
  • Understand functionality and implement features as needed.
  • Ensure managers and staff have the appropriate access.
  • Ensure proper connectivity with Employee Navigator.

Manage Benefits Program and Enrollments:

  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits programs. This includes negotiating with vendors, communicating benefit options to employees, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Send open enrollment reminders to staff.
  • Ensure documentation is filed appropriately
  • Complete (semiannual) Full Time vs Part Time Audit on all employees for Insurance Purposes and Vacation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • PHR certification required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR management, preferably in a remote or virtual environment
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
