Cambria is seeking a Human Resources Manager to provide onsite, day-to-day Human Resources support to the Sitec mining operation and remote support to the Cambria Sales & Distribution Center in Toronto, ON.
Time allocated to the mining operation will be approximately 85% and 15% to the Sales & Distribution Center. This support includes employee and union relations, recruiting, onboarding, employee communications, performance management, new hire orientations, employment law, benefits administration and Human Resources training. This individual will build trusting relationships, use critical thinking, ethical practice, effective communication, and cross functional awareness to provide recommendations and drive change through the assigned business units.Â
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide the day to day interface with union site leadership for Sitec

Partner with the assigned business units to provide guidance with employee relations issues, including performance issues, disciplinary actions and terminations, employee conflicts, policy violations, etc

Develop innovative recruiting strategies and programs with managers and the talent acquisition team to fully staff roles

Lead employee relations investigations and make recommendations to resolve issues to ensure timely and appropriate actions are taken

Identifying trends and/or solutions to improve employee retention

Collaborate with hiring managers through the hiring process which includes establishing the job description, pay classification, guide managers through the recruitment and onboarding process

Prepare reports for management to help provide information to the assigned business unit.

Develop, recommend and implement human resources process and policy changes

Stay up to date with federal and provincial employment law changes to mitigate risk

Maintain highly confidential employee information and documents

Implement, monitor, evaluation, and development of the company’s HR strategies.

Plan seasonal resource planning to ensure sufficient staffing levels.

Develop and execute manager and employee training to ensure workforce flexibility and skills improvement.

Administer benefits programs for all employees.

Represent the organization in legal matters related to human resources, including review of existing legislation.Â

Negotiate and ensure compliance with all rules and benefits included in the union contract.

Manage the temporary foreign worker program.

Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the internal stakeholders as needed/required.

Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
Qualifications & Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication.

Solid understanding of the federal and provincial employment laws in both Quebec and Ontario
-
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.

Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.

Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations and performance management

Fluent bilingual in French and EnglishÂ
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelors degree in human resources or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ Human Resources experience , HR support in a multi-shift, unionized mining or manufacturing environment preferred
Systems: Proficient in Google Suites, Microsoft Office, HRIS (Workday preferred)Â

Travel Requirements: 5%-10% travel required to other Cambria locations within Canada & USA
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform light physical tasks. Primarily an office position requiring telephone and computer use.Â
