Job Description
Job Summary:
Maintains and enhances the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. Evaluates the status and productivity of human resource programs and recommends changes to improve efficiency and cost effectiveness. Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization. Writes directives advising department managers of company policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversees the business partner, talent acquisition, and talent development functions for the U.S.
- Acts as a partner to business management by providing assistance to business unit in all aspects of human resources.
- Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
- Maintains organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.
- Leads collective bargaining process for 3 unions and manages union relations in conjunction with field management.
- Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
- Ensures planning, monitoring, and evaluation of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee concerns or grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
- Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
- Provide HR administration to ensure all personnel data is processed timely.
- Maintains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records.
- Develops and implements a variety of programs including recruitment, learning and development, performance management, compensation and benefits.
- Manage employee/labor relation issues and includes training and organizational development of staff, recruitment, selection, and on-boarding.
- Communicate HR policy and programs to various levels of organizational staff.
- Manage vendor and other outsourced relationships.
- Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings.
Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:
- Proficient English is absolutely required.
- Bachelor's degree in business with HR emphasis or equivalent.
- 7-10 years of related experience.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving and PC software skills required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel.
- Ability to meet dead-lines and work in a fast-paced environment.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
