The Human Resources Manager plans, directs, and implements policies and procedures for all areas of the human resources function including staffing, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, payroll, and compliance. This position administers and innovates human resources programs and policies that support company goals and positively engage the workforce. To be successful, the Human Resources Manager will need to independently maintain systems and processes and provide subject matter expertise to leadership on all human resource matters. Â
This position is a full-time salaried, exempt position and reports to the Controller. This position is based in Portland, OR and works in one of our Portland office locations at least twice per week. The compensation for this position ranges from $80,000 - $110,000 per year.Â
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Manage Department Administration
- Provide full cycle recruiting by partnering with the leadership team to understand and execute the organizational talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planningÂ
- Process payroll accurately and on time including new hires, terminations, changes to pay rates and deductions or garnishments; identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and proceduresÂ
- Design and maintain learning, development, and training programs and initiatives; leads the annual retreat, monthly manager training, and employee onboardingÂ
- Ensure legal compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain complianceÂ
- Manage compensation and benefits by analyzing trends; researching and proposing competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talentÂ
- Plan, implement, and administer organizational policies and proceduresÂ
- Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigationsÂ
Lead Department Strategy
- Plan and implement strategic objectives that fulfill the mission and the goals of the department efficiently and effectively in collaboration with leadership teamÂ
- Evaluate, improve, and report the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance profitability and qualitative resultsÂ
- Establish, maintain, and present reports to stakeholdersÂ
- Engage in effective feedback systems to monitor and communicate operational and strategic alignment with interdepartmental objectivesÂ
- Manage departmental budget and profitability metricsÂ
Supervise Team
- Manage staff to meet Snow Peak’s expectations for goal accomplishment
- Monitor employee work schedules and assignments
- Develop employee career pathing by coaching, mentoring, and providing effective performance feedback; inspire a culture of learning and developmentÂ
- Communicate transparently and resolve conflicts to foster a successful team that encourages the appreciation of diverse perspectives as well as cohesiveness
- Recruit, select, and hire teamÂ

MUST HAVE
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in human resources management
Skills
- Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareÂ
- Proficient knowledge of compliance related laws and regulationsÂ
- Proficient understanding of project management fundamentalsÂ
- Advanced writing and documentation experience with demonstrated success in strategic messagingÂ
- Advanced expertise in excel and analytical analysis and reportingÂ
- Expert understanding of the financial and business acumen to drive profitabilityÂ
