Human Resources Manager
Job Description
Human Resources Manager will support the organization's HR initiatives and play a pivotal role in shaping and executing HR strategies that align with business objectives, enhance company culture, and promote the growth and development of a diverse workforce. As the Human Resources Manager they will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR operations, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations within the construction industry.
The Human Resources Manager (HR Manager) will be responsible for leading and directing theday-to-day routine functions of the Human Resources department. These tasks include:
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Stay updated on industry trends, labor laws, and regulations to ensure HR practices remain current and compliant. Review policies regularly to ensure compliance.
- Support the recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring we acquire skilled and qualified employees
- Oversee employee relations, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a harmonious work environment.
- Assist managers with performance management and appraisal systems to optimize employee productivity and development.
- Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts to foster a culture that values and promotes the contributions of all employees.
- Managing and processing payroll semi-monthly.
- Supporting the HR team on special projects, events, and implementation of programs.
*This is not a remote position. To be considered for this role, you must be willing to relocate to the Baton Rouge area and work in office, Monday-Friday.*
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Experience Years: 3-5 years OR equivalent combination of education and experience PHR or SHRM designation preferred.
- Knowledge of current State and Federal Wage, Employment Laws, and HR policies and procedures for various states or ability to quickly research applicable State laws.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective problem-solving.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate sensitive and confidential matters to all levels.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, manage the administrative processes of an HR department, and identify problems requiring escalation.
- Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, and Excel; Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint; Basic proficiency with Human Resource Information Systems - preferably ADP (HRIS).
Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm; IN-OFFICE
