THE ROLE

As our Human Resource Manager for AXS Japan, you’ll work closely with the Japan Team and the AXS Global HR team to deliver a ‘best in class’ employee experience. You will provide day-to-day support to employees and managers in the areas of policy interpretation, onboarding, training, performance management, employee relations, terminations, acting as a resource to employees on HR-related matters. Additionally, you will be able to make recommendations and develop strategies in alignment with the Company's commitments.


YOU

You’ll have experience of working with multiple teams and an understanding of Japanese employment law. You’ll be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. You’ll be highly organised and personable and have proven ability to establish good professional relationships with colleagues at all levels.


MAIN ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To provide generalist HR support to all AXS Japan employees, delivering the HR & People Strategy in line with Global and Japanese initiatives
  • Acts as a resource to employees on all HR/Payroll/Office questions
  • Act as role model and champion of our Company values, integrating them into local processes, driving culture award engagement and recognition.
  • Work closely with AXS Global HR Team on key projects and initiatives to deliver the HR & People strategy.
  • Provide day-to-day human resources services to employees and managers in the areas of employee relations, fostering leadership success, shaping the employee experience, creating an inclusive culture, and policy improvement, implementation, and administration.
  • Responsible for creating and implementing polices that are in line with Japanese employment regulations.
  • Responsible for recruiting new roles or working with recruiting agency to hire open roles. This will include document screening, interview coordination and selection. Creation and management of job positing
  • Responsible for onboarding new employees and giving appropriate paperwork.
  • Responsible for offboarding employees ensuring all documentation is administered
  • Update employee data in SmartHR, Team Spirit payroll and applicable systems to ensure accuracy, identify and research errors, and ensure system correction are made as needed and ensure employees are recording all hours.
  • Responsible for working with our outsourced payroll provider to ensure employees are set up, paid and timecards are received.
  • Approving and recording all time off requests and leaves.
  • Ensure that welfare and benefit system is provided and utilized by all employees.
  • Organize medical checks for all employees.
  • Office management including organizing monthly culture events.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of Japanese labor regulations and requirements
  • IT skills (MS Office Suite) to work efficiently
  • Fluent level Japanese and conversational level English
  • 3 years of HR experience preferred
  • Passion for people
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to make sound decisions independently
