Our solution, Sickbay, collects patient data, stores it, transforms it and delivers results to doctors and nurses in real-time. We continue to build on Sickbay to identify early warning signs of patient deterioration in data which was previously lost within hospitals. This allows us to provide predictive alerts to care providers who can remotely or locally diagnose the problem and intervene before symptoms become life-threatening.

JOB SUMMARY
Job Purpose
The Human Resources Manager plays a critical role to ensure that the company effectively acquires, maintains and transitions its team members, while reducing the company’s risk to employment liabilities. Important aspects of this position include general HR administration such as payroll and benefits management, recruiting, managing company HR policies, working with department leads to manage their team members, among other HR tasks that may arise from time to time.
Duties & Responsibilities
- HR Administration
- Expert user of TriNet including company and employee configuration data, performance management, reporting, and interacting with a TriNet account manager.
- Coordination of payroll, benefits, and employee leave programs
- Supervise consultant contract documentation and deliverables with manager in charge
- Manage employee documentation including employment documentation and leave requests in accordance with company policies
- Serve as reference for employees on HR benefits offered by company
- Develop and track job descriptions for each position and compare against employee qualifications for a role in conjunction with the Legal & Compliance Dept.
- Employee productivity, progress and development
- Collaborate with department leaders on employee development strategy and employee professional growth preferences
- Coordinate with Department leadership and Compliance Department to ensure employees have met training requirements
- Coordinate all aspects of employee onboarding
- Expert on training requirements for local and remote employees
- Develop and maintain appropriate reporting forms for employee reviews by managers and others throughout the year
- Manage performance improvement plans
- Drive consistency and updates to job descriptions
- Provide company leadership with information and recommendations on employee engagement
- Join and participate in appropriate professional associations, continuing education
- Access information and criteria for new policies and procedures applicable to employees and employment
- Stay current with employment issues, laws and trends
- Guide managers and leadership through employee issues, disputes and disciplinary actions
- Manage disposition of employee complaints and queries to resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
- Coordinate with the Legal and Compliance Department
- Ensure all HR documentation is signed and filed appropriately
- Work with the Legal and Compliance Department to ensure policies & procedures meet legal standards and MIC’s Quality System requirements
- Direct appropriate questions, manager suggestions or policy interpretation issues regarding legal sufficiency of HR policies or documentation to Legal Department promptly
- Participate and assist in internal audits of HR procedures and documentation
- Report instances of employee behavior having potential legal consequences to Legal/Compliance liaison
- Assist with internal HR investigations and legal document holds, as required
- Recruiting, Hiring & Onboarding
- Responsible for ensuring that MIC meets its hiring targets
- Assist managers in scoping job descriptions and salary ranges for posting
- Track and manage HRM and other recruiting resources to process candidates
- Manage external recruiters
- Manage MIC’s participation in recruiting events
- Monitor performance/rating of MIC as employer (public view e.g. Glassdoor)
- Provide recruiting updates to COO for reporting during leadership meetings and board meetings
- Conduct initial interviews, employment screenings and background checks
- Manage the new employee onboarding process
- Terminations/Transition Events
- Manage termination and offboarding process to ensure a smooth transition according to MIC policy
- Coordinate return of company equipment
- Conduct exit interviews
- Work with the COO to evaluate and set employee compensation
- Manage Compensation tools
- Track and identify compensation inequity across departments
- Participate in development of compensation strategies
- Develop benchmarking criteria for positions and salaries
- Assist the COO with reporting to the leadership team, the Board of Directors and its Committees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business or other related degree with 3+ years of HR management experience, in lieu of degree, at least 10+ years of work experience in HR
- 5+ years of TriNet experience
- Experience transitioning from Professional Employer Organization (TriNet preferred) to in-house HR solutions
- Experience establishing, implementing, and maintaining a compliant FMLA program.
- Excellent communication skills, highly organized, superior interpersonal skills, & detail oriented
- Good problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations
Working Conditions
- Prolonged hours in front of a computer screen
- Works in an office environment at the Corporate Office in Houston, Texas.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at times.
