This is a position with The Marley Company, a parent company which provides administrative support to the SPX Enterprises HVAC Heating businesses (such as WM Technologies, LLC, Marley Engineered Products, LLC, Patterson-Kelley, LLC) and includes all Weil-McLain® branded products.

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

We are a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Human Resources Manager, you are a key member of the local Leadership team who partners to support local goals, organizational development, growth, cultural change and innovation. This role is the primary contact for local day-to-day HR support and is a change agent for strategic and tactical improvements.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at Weil-McLain, your core responsibilities will be:

  1. Labor and Employee Relations
  • Manage and interpret Collective Bargaining Agreements; respond to union grievances, facilitate management/labor meetings.
  • Understand and apply employment & labor law, policies, practices, and compliance. Adapts to changing labor laws.
  • Support supervisors and managers with performance management needs using processes and tools. This includes coaching, addressing performance issues, developing employees, and succession planning.
  1. Talent Acquisition, Training and Development
  • Manage the full scope of the employee life cycle including: identifying resourcing issues, implementing local staffing plans to ensure staffing needs are met, managing local recruiting, onboarding, and implementing exit policies / practices
  • Manage the annual internship program.
  • Implement learning and org development plans and succession planning to support local needs.

3. Employee Engagement

  • In collaboration with local leadership, administer annual employee survey inclusive of participation, communication, and associated action plans.
  • Along with onsite HR Generalist, support and implement recognition and onsite engagement activities.
  • Facilitate and support effective local communication (townhalls, email and posting announcements).
  • Execute on D&I initiatives.

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • Proven ability to coach and advise supervisors / managers on employee relations issues.
  • Labor Relations/Bargaining Unit/Union experience
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs and develop solutions.
  • 5 + years in a lead site-level HR role
  • Experience with full cycle HR generalist functions (pay and performance planning, goal setting, open enrollment etc.)
  • Experience delivering training modules and workshops to a variety of employees.
  • Experience with initiating and sustaining meaningful employee engagement activities.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience in a manufacturing facility
  • Management of at least 1 HR direct report
  • Collaboration with Safety/EHS function

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR related field.
  • PHR or SPHR certification

Travel & Working Environment

  • This role is onsite
  • Office environment with frequent time spent in foundry/plant floor environment requiring safety equipment (safety glasses and shoes, hardhat)
