Job Description

Arrow Security & Training LLC (AST) is a privately-owned training company with our corporate headquarters in Nashua, New Hampshire. AST is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) who provides tailored military training, training support and a host of services to government and private sector clients worldwide. 

Summary

The Human Resource Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function.

Essential Functions

  1. Implements and updates the compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts salary surveys and analyzes compensation.
  2. Monitors the performance evaluation program and revises, as necessary.
  3. Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures.
  4. Leads the development of department goals, objectives, and systems. Provides leadership for Human Resources strategic planning.
  5. Administers benefits programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, pension plans, paid time off, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
  6. Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations along with other specific reporting
  7. Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  8. Works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates.
  9. Administers employee on-boarding and off-boarding processes; plans and conducts new employee orientation; prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  10. Manages employee relations counseling.
  11. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and office software including Microsoft Office, PaychexFlex, CostPoint and others. This position will be located in our Nashua, NH office, this is not a remote position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or Board of Directors.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Required Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree and five years of Human Resource experience, or nine years of experience in the HR field.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • A Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential.

Travel

Travel occasionally.
