Human Resources Manager - Bilingual Required (Korean/English)
Job Description
Responsible for overseeing all Human Resources functions including recruitment, employee relations, orientation and development, compensation, and benefits. Directs the Human Resources department and advises and guides management in interpretation and application of all Human Resources Policies. Communicate and work with HR team in the corporate office in Korea.
Responsibility:
Compliance, Policy and Procedure:
- Reviews and improves company's policies, procedures and practices; consults with and advises managers and supervisors of their human resource management responsibilities and the application of HR policies, procedures and code of ethics.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures company's compliance
- Consults with legal counsel as appropriate
- Reviews and updates employee job descriptions as necessary
Payroll and Benefit:
- Implements and updates compensation program annually; conducts annual salary surveys and develops merit pool (salary budget); analyzes compensation; monitoring performance evaluation program and revises as necessary with the help from Business Unit HRBP at the Corporate Office
- Ensures the benefit plans (Health insurance, 401k, and etc.) of the company are administered in compliance with the Plan document and with the regulations
Employee Relation:
- Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters
- Investigates and resolves any personnel issues
- Oversees the discipline and grievance processes; develops and directs the maintenance of the employee record system; supervises personnel transactions.
Recruiting and staffing:
- Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and non-exempt personnel, and temporary employees
- Coordinates and/or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation
Manage Human Resources area:
- Plans, organizes, directs and manages all activities of the department
- Supervises and trains the staff of the Human Resources Department
Others:
- Develops, implements, and monitors compliance with employee training and education, safety, and performance management programs.
- Coordinate companywide events
- Participates on committees (Safety committee, 401K committee), and special projects
- Complies with the company's policy and procedure
- Performs other related duties, as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (required)
- Master`s degree (Management, Human Resources, or equivalent) or MBA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience
- Bilingual (English/Korean) required
- Authorized to work for any U.S. employer (This role does not provide visa sponsorship)
- Broad HR knowledge in key areas such as talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, learning, and development, etc.
- Strong employee relations skills and employment law (Federal and California)
- Successful implementation of operational and strategic HR programs and processes
- Direct people management experience
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Travel Required: 5~10%
- Expected base salary range: $105,000 ~ $194,000
