Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the following: Other duties will be assigned that support the overall HR department based the organization’s production workload.
- Assist with implementing recruiting strategies to meet current or anticipated craft staffing needs as directed.
- Perform searches for qualified job candidates, using sources such as company re-hire database, company applicant log, Texas Workforce Commission, computer databases, networking, Internet recruiting resources, media advertisements, job fairs, recruiting firms, employee referrals, etc.
- Upon receipt of manpower request, locate applicants with appropriate qualification.
- Interview applicants to obtain information on work history, training, education, or job skills and match to current needs by evaluating qualifications and/or specified licensing, according to established guidelines.
- Inform job applicants of details such as duties and responsibilities, compensation, schedules, and working conditions.
- Schedule applicants for required skills testing with the QC Department, receive test results, and classify new employees according to the current rate scale.
- Select qualified job applicants or refer them to managers, making hiring recommendations when appropriate.
- Schedule & conduct new hire orientation.
- Evaluate selection or testing techniques by conducting research conferring with management and/or field supervisory personnel.
- Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and other labor laws.
- Maintain awareness of current industry trends.
Required Education & Experience:
- Associate degree (preferred) in related field or commensurate experience.
- Two to five years’ experience in Human Resource/Recruiting field.
Working Conditions:
- Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment and be able to attend meetings at various sites within and away from office.
- Mobility to climb up and down stairs, as needed.
- Strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, including the ability to look at a computer screen for at least eight hours each day.
- Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
- Regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and/or rainy weather, combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
Necessary Equipment Operation:
- Office equipment, including telephone, fax machine, scanner, computer, printer.
Special Skills:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Able to work in a highly confidential manner.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
