Tyler's Human Resources team is seeking an experienced HR Representative to support our Public Safety Division. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service and communication skills, strong attention to detail, ability to think creatively, and committed to having a strong impact on our employees and our business. As a member of the Tyler HR team, this position will play a key role in driving our culture and implement practices and objectives that will support our employee-oriented, high performing environment.

Across all areas of our team, from software engineers to client success managers to implementation consultants, we have employees who are passionate about helping our public sector clients do the amazing work they need to help our communities. This position, while handling a variety of administrative and procedural tasks, is also keenly connected to all our employees to help them thrive and do the best work of their lives.

This role is ideally suited to be fully in our Troy, Michigan office; we are open to a hybrid work arrangement of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the office as an alternative.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain credible and trusting relationships with team members, managers and leadership as a trusted HR business partner, providing exceptional service with a personal sense of urgency
  • Counsel team members and managers on HR policies and procedures to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all team members
  • Address employee relations and legal issues by providing advice and counsel as needed, adhering to HR policy and applicable laws
  • Participate in onboarding new hires including new hire orientation and mentor programs
  • Participate in performance management activities such as performance evaluation process, performance improvement process and terminations
  • Partner with divisional HR leader to assist with talent strategy, retention and succession planning
  • Conduct and/or analyze exit surveys and interviews, and provide trends, insights and recommendations when applicable
  • Partner with divisional HR leader in the execution of the annual employee engagement survey
  • Facilitate and support learning and development programs and initiatives
  • Work with HRIS team to ensure the HR system is accurate, and support managers with manager self-service in HRIS system
  • Support learning and development programs and initiatives that provide career development opportunities for employees
  • Analyze surveys and other employment data to identify trends and provide recommendations to HR leadership; serve as an advocate for a positive team member experience
  • Administer processes and programs such as Workers Compensation, Service Awards, Immigration, ADA accommodation requests, FMLA other leave of absence matters
  • Support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives to ensure a fair and equitable workplace environment
  • Collaborate with divisional and Tyler-wide colleagues on various HR projects and initiatives
  • Assist employees with health, retirement, and other benefits in areas of enrollment, compliance, and applicable payroll deductions; ensure employee's understanding of benefit programs
  • Responsible for background check inquires and processing
Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the human resources field required
    • Direct experience with immigration and visa sponsorship process is highly desired
  • Solid knowledge of general Human Resources policies, programs, methods, practices, and procedures related to Employee Relations, Compensation, Benefits, and EEO/AAP administration
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, local and international laws, and regulations as it relates to the human resources function
  • Effectively interact with employees and managers at all levels of the organization
  • Flexibility to adapt to ever-changing environment and learn new concepts quickly
  • Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and organization skills, including the ability to multi-task and present to groups
  • Must be able to follow and make decisions based on established guidelines and analyze and refine departmental processes
  • Experience working with Human Resources information Systems is preferred; UKG experience would be outstanding
  • Proficient computer skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, word, and PowerPoint
