This role supports the Human Resources functions and employees in Puerto Rico.

Responsibilities and Activities

  • Responsible for data input, information maintenance, security administration and maintenance of HRIS data and other employee-related databases. Provides backup support for payroll processing. Partners with payroll to maintain the HRIS database.
  • Prepares various reports (government reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, AAP, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), etc.).
  • Updates and maintains Human Resources correspondence and files for employment, benefits, payroll, through various software and intranet sites; create job postings, employment offer letters, etc. Keeps temps/contractors’ extension dates updated, communicates extension to resources and keeps records as appropriate. Supports company processes and documentation related to Human Resources in PR (onboarding, retention and exiting).
  • Address employee requests and questions.
  • Communicates company policies as necessary providing a clear understanding of company policies and procedures, standards relative to work environment, performance, business, and administration processes.
  • Provides day-to-day benefits administration services. Assist employees with any claim issues communicating with benefit provider. Administers disability and worker's compensation claims. Administers 401 (k) plan paperwork and assists in yearly compliance reporting.
  • Assists with the implementation of company safety and health programs. Tracks and posts OSHA-required data and files reports. Assists with the company-wide committees including the wellness, training, environmental health and safety, activity, and culture and communications committees.
  • Helps to schedule various trainings, orientations, etc.

Assist with other duties as necessary.
 

Required Education, Experience, Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years' experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), must have strong knowledge of ADP Workforce Now Software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Language: bilingual in Spanish and English and competency in comprehension of both languages
  • Basic knowledge of labor legislation
  • Experience using professional social networks (i.e. Linkedln)
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to regularly changing conditions
  • Outstanding organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Reports to (title): Director, Human Resources
Exempt, Part-time Temporary 15 hours per week
Pay Rate from $15.00PH
