Human Resources Specialist - Bilingual (English/Spanish)

MAG- American Display and Fixture

Status: Non-Exempt, Full Time ($42,500-45,500)

Reports To: Director Human Resources

Location: Chattanooga, TN 37406

American Display & Fixture (ADF) has an immediate full time opening for an experienced Human Resources Specialist. Looking for an HR professional with to join a dedicated HR Team. We are looking for an individual who will be the first contact for the Tennessee HR team to provide support with a diverse set of HR activities. Position reports to Director of Human Resources.

Primary Job Duties

The following duties are not intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities.

  • Administration of company-wide human resources policies and practices.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of Confidentiality and discretion.
  • Ability to provide consultation, advice and handle sensitive matters.
  • Oversees and assigns employee training and orientation programs.
  • Updating employment records related to hiring, transferring, promoting, and terminating in a confidential manner.
  • Assist with Employer benefit programs.
  • Updates HRIS system as needed or directed.
  • Experience with HR data management; Electronic filing
  • Recruiting
  • Participates and plans company events.
  • Assist in Timekeeping and payroll recordkeeping.
  • Familiar with various HRIS systems. Paycor experience preferred.
  • Provides respectful, prompt, and accurate and customer service to all staff.
  • Ability to commute to other locations Tennessee and occasionally travel to Dalton location.
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural facilities and to work with non-English speaking employees.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a related field; however, additional related work experience will be considered in lieu of the education requirement.
  • Prefer Minimum of 1+ years' experience in Human Resources
  • Working in manufacturing environment a plus but not required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Occasionally, work outside normal business hours as needed.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Knowledge of:

  • Proficiency in Word/Google Docs
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint/Google Slides
  • Prefer working knowledge of best HR practices and compliance.
  • Confidentiality and HR best practices

Physical Requirements- Work is performed in an office environment.

  • Stationary work: requiring ability to sit, stand for long periods of time.
  • Moderate amounts of walking involved in working in plant locations.
  • Consistent use of repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers to view and operate computer, phone, and basic office equipment.
  • Occasional lift/push/pull up to 20 pounds.
  • On occasion, the ability to drive to various site locations.
