Human Resources Specialist - Employee Relations
Job Description
Responsible for employee activities such onboarding, employee relations, unemployment, performance management, employee records and legal compliance for the Roadmaster School Network. This position will provide a variety of services to ensure maximum effectiveness of the department. This position will play a critical role in ensuring we are successfully onboarding, retaining, and motivating workforce.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate policies, procedures, programs and laws to managers and supervisors.
- Lead the development and administration of programs, procedures and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the Company
- Advise managers and supervisors about employment issues; collect and compile information from employees and supervisors about complaints and grievances; document employment issues
- Communicate with managers and employees regularly to establish rapport and gauge morale
- Work as strategic partner with specialists in Compensation, Benefits, Work Comp and Training
- Demonstrate knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) show respect and sensitivity for cultural differences and educate others on the value of diversity
- Manage disciplinary process including paperwork and delivery
- Ensure smooth onboarding duties and processes are handled
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory concerns and reporting
- Manage exit process including exit interviews, documentation and reporting procedures
- Complete unemployment claim paperwork and participate in hearings
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Management or a business-related field required.
- Three years' experience with employee relations, employment law, and conducting investigations required.
- Five years' experience with employee relations, employment law, and conducting investigations required.
- Proven knowledge of EEO, AAP, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, FCRA, Federal and State Legal Compliance
- Confidential, professional and results driven
- Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, self-motivation and communication skills required
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Excellent verbal, social and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
- Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and be flexible to changing assignment priority
