At the GS-12 level Qualified candidates must possess:
1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level or equivalent experience.

Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, for example: (1) reviewing grant making activities; (2) assisting with collecting, analyzing data, and identifying ways to foster public engagement in humanities; (3) attending panel meetings and chairing them as requested; (4) assisting programs by working in higher education, programming or research position in a library, archive, or university press. At the GS-13 level Qualified candidates must possess:
1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level or equivalent experience.

Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, for example: (1) overseeing grant making activities; collecting, analyzing data, and identifying ways to foster public engagement in humanities; attending panel meetings and chairing them as requested; initiating and maintaining connections with individuals and cultural, educational, and other institutions and organizations; leading programs by working in higher education, programming or research position in a library, archive, or university press.
