Your Role:
As a HV Systems Functional Architect in the Vehicle Electrification Systems Division, you will be responsible for conceptualizing and designing high voltage system solutions that enable cost effective power distribution, conversion and control.
You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams of engineers and designers to ensure the development and delivery of products that meet our customers' needs and exceed their expectations.
In your daily job you will:
- Define the system level strategy for Vehicle Electrification Systems
- Define a five year forward thinking vision of next generation vehicle and high voltage system function architectures
- Analyze and identify requirements and create gap analysis
- Analyze Tier 1, Tier 2 and automaker solutions and create internal reports and recommendations
- Create vehicle-aligned component and system targets for function, cost, weight and investment
- Lead concept development activities to generate novel product and system solutions
- Elaborate system concept into hardware and software component technologies to provide robust solutions which can be implemented in mechanical, electrical hardware, and software strategies
- Identify and track key system decisions that establish technology roadmaps and product architecture to enable more effective system solutions
- Lead and contribute to design reviews, test plans, and requirements reviews to further optimize the vehicle electrification systems
- Collaborate with Aptiv business units to co-develop future Smart Vehicle Architecture iterations
- Lead and contribute to the design and building of demonstration and proof of concept products, systems and/or vehicles
Your Background
Key ingredients for succeeding in this role are your:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, computer science or equivalent technical field from an accredited institution.
- 10+ years in automotive experience.
- Strong understanding of vehicle architecture, high voltage systems and distributed SW compute
- A system approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement
- Ability to work effectively with customers, internal/external personnel, suppliers, and vendors.
- Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to meet time sensitive deadlines, be detail-oriented and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage several projects simultaneously.
