Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC VRF/VRV Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) and Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) systems, providing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services for commercial and/or residential clients. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service. Key Responsibilities β€’ Install, commission, and service VRF/VRV HVAC systems according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards. β€’ Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, including electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant-related problems. β€’ Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventive care on VRF/VRV systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. β€’ Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. β€’ Communicate effectively with clients to explain technical issues, recommend solutions, and provide updates on service progress. β€’ Complete detailed service reports, maintain accurate records, and document all work performed. β€’ Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, company policies, and local HVAC codes and regulations. β€’ Collaborate with other technicians, project managers, and support staff as needed. β€’ Stay current with new technologies, products, and best practices in the HVAC industry. Qualifications β€’ High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or HVAC certification preferred. β€’ EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) required. β€’ Minimum 5 years of experience servicing VRF/VRV systems (e.g., Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, Samsung, or similar). β€’ Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and HVAC controls. β€’ Ability to use diagnostic tools, gauges, and hand/power tools safely and effectively. β€’ Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. β€’ Excellent communication and customer service skills. β€’ Ability to work independently and as part of a team. β€’ Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights as needed. Preferred Skills β€’ Manufacturer-specific training or certifications (e.g., Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, Samsung VRF/VRV systems). β€’ Experience with building automation systems (BAS) integration. β€’ Familiarity with digital service platforms and mobile work order management. Work Environment β€’ Field-based role with travel to client sites. β€’ May require occasional overtime, weekend, or on-call work.
