HVAC Service Technician

Established San Jose (California)-based mechanical contractor is seeking experienced Lead Commercial HVAC Service Technician. Applicant must have formal technical training, EPA-certified (Universal) and at least 10 years of related field experience. Clean driving record, good written and verbal communication skills, “team player,” and excellent customer-oriented personality are a must. Salary shall be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Responsibilities: • Ability to lead a team of service technicians and drive efficiency • Coordinate schedules and logistics with other technicians • Complete work and repair orders in a timely fashion • Estimate time and extent of repairs • Perform routine preventive maintenance • Maintain truck material and supply inventory • Oversee work performed by outside contractors as necessary • Start-up equipment from package units, split systems, boxcars, air handlers, and furnaces • Respond to service calls and troubleshoot equipment issues and error codes Qualifications and Requirements: • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in HVAC commercial service and maintenance industry • Familiarity with maintenance/installation tools and equipment • Familiarity with various controls systems, including pneumatic and DDC BMS systems • EPA (Universal) certification for service technician • Ability to handle physical workload • Deadline and detail-oriented • Excellent written & verbal communication sills • Customer-oriented personality • Team player and role model • Able to pass background check & drug test • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record Job Type: Full-time Pay: $45.00 - $70.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week Benefits: • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid time off • Retirement plan • Vision insurance Schedule: • 5x8 • 8 hour shift • Nights as needed • Overtime Supplemental Pay: • Bonus opportunities License/Certification: • EPA Certification (Preferred) • Driver's License (Preferred) Work Location: In person
