Our Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).

MN RF You will join the RF Development Unit and will enjoy our culture of innovation, openness, discipline, simplicity, accountability, and profit mindset. Your future teams are developing Nokia 3GPP mainstream radio technology products and solutions including cross-technology responsibility (Multi Radio Access Technology). Your unit's main priorities are flawless execution of radio product development.

What you will learn and contribute to

RF Antenna Engineer participating in the development of 4G/5G cellular base station transmitters and receivers

Main Responsibility Area:

Perform R&D development for antenna designs new 3G/4G/5G/MSR BTS products from initial concept through requirements definition topology selection, detailed design, analysis, optimization, manufacturing, testing, qualification, and release to customer.

Position Description:

- Research and development of new antenna structures emerging wireless technologies

- Design, simulate, and characterize passive elements

- Conduct detailed design of various packages

- Generate requirements for advanced antenna and array designs

- Participate in cross-functional reviews of designs and ensure consistency in related design across products

- Work with other internal and external design teams regarding their design and support evaluation, testing and reviews of their proposals and actual designs.

- Utilize standard RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators

- Conduct testing within near-field and far-field OTA chambers

- Help ensure the design meets set requirements for: schedule, features, functionality, cost, quality, reliability, regulatory compliance, and industry standards compliance

Your skills and experience

- MSEE degree is preferred but BSEE degree will be considered with some antenna experience. Should have completed college courses & lab dealing with antennas.

- Basic RF knowledge with good understanding of electromagnetics fundamentals and design at high frequencies

- Good understanding of Antenna and Antenna Arrays concepts

- Good proficiency in 3D electromagnetic simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, and ADS

- Hands on experience using RF test equipment (signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers)

- Programming capability in C, VBA, Python or Matlab preferred. Expected to be able to write scripts or programming for antenna testing

- Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills

- Have excellent interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships as part of a technical team in a fast pace environment

- Good planning and organization skills

- Fluent in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Office

- Some international travel might be needed
