Hybrid Wiring Systems Engineer

This position is part of our Signal & Power Solutions segment; Connection Systems business unit located in Warren, OH.

The VES 3D CAD Engineer will work within a group of engineers to design and develop new Aptiv Electrification products, focusing on high voltage busbars and corresponding components for the electrified vehicle market. They will work with product and process engineering team to ensure designs are the best solution to customer needs and able to be manufactured. They will developing rapid prototypes and production designs, and work within cross functional teams to deliver parts for build events. They will also be responsible for incorporation of OEM requirements throughout new 3D CAD designs.

Summary:

Develop new Aptiv Electrification products, focusing on busbars, and work with cross functional teams to deliver best technical solutions to customers. Ensuring products meet customer requirements and manufacturable.

Responsibilities:

Create new 3D CAD designs and make design changes for various electrified vehicle customers

• Work closely with product development teams to create innovative designs that solve customers' toughest challenges and best in the market
• Work closely with product development teams to align Aptiv technology with customer needs and business pursuit
• Leverage Aptiv organization/products (Bill of Design, Bill of Process, CAE/FEA Simulations) into new technical design solutions
• Lead implementation of the latest technologies into Aptiv product designs
• Support creation of technically strong internal and customer presentations
• Support, and work closely, with Aptiv Electrification teams in other regions
• Available to participate customer launch activities, meetings, build events at Aptiv and customer locations
• Ensure designs comply with customer and application specific requirements

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):

• Proficient in 3D CAD design and programs (NX, Catia)
• 2+ years' experience in automotive and/or component design roles
• 1+ years' experience in a team environment
• 1+ years' experience in Electrical Schematics/Vehicle mechanizations understanding

Nice to Haves:

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)
• Excellent Communication skills - written and verbal
• Multi-tasking team player with a hands-on approach
• Proficient in Microsoft office products (Excel)
• Exposure to manufacturing environment
