The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution - from technologies and investments to supply chain, manufacturing and test operations, facilities management, and information technology services.
IAS Planner Lead - Manufacturing
Lead a team of planners to perform planning and production tasks, anticipate program needs, and expedite material and tool requirements for production, manufacturing, or assembly operations.
What You'll Do:
- May review engineering drawings for identification of parts, materials and tooling needs.
- May assist in identifying assembly and fabrication tooling needs.
- May plan sequential manufacturing and assembly operations; may estimate and generate production schedules to accommodate the program master schedule.
- Write and/or maintain manufacturing development work requests, configuration requirements, and material traceability documentation.
- Create and execute purchase requisitions through approval.
- May procure material via a Purchasing-Card.
- Anticipate material/part shortages or delays and expedite as required to eliminate project schedule impacts.
- Work internal or supplier material issues.
- Identify long lead procurement and fabrication needs.
- Effectively work in a cross-functional team environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and/or external customers.
- Review drawing BOM's for kitted materials and quantities.
- Create picklist from stores to execute kitting process.
- Pull material from Inventory and kit/stage to meet manufacturing requirements.
- Ensure manufacturing support tooling is fabricated, available, and property tagged.
- Assume ownership for limited life and floor stock material audits.
- Provide status of material kits and build schedules.
- Schedule and coordinate manufacturing shops and service center needs.
- Coordinate with offload schedulers for offsite processing.
- Create & maintain material and execution Shop Orders (IFS & Velocity).
- Transport and expedite hardware throughout Ball facilities.
- Coordinate shipping of completed hardware.
- Provide current information to update project or program schedules.
- Generate and maintain manufacturing routings while maintaining configuration requirements and material traceability documentation.
- May provide input to labor and material cost estimates for manufacturing and test operations on programs.
- Provide material and manufacturing status reports.
- Demonstrate willingness to follow work instructions / guidelines IAW the Quality Business System.
- Demonstrate willingness to communicate openly and collaboratively. Keep team/department informed.
- Provide direction to subordinates/peers for specific tasks, direction, and priorities.
- Provide leadership support for tasks and projects in cross-functional teams.
- Provide input for, write, and/or deliver performance evaluations.
- Coordinate efforts for process improvements.
- Facilitate/lead proposal and/or delegated program activities.
- Recommend and/or initiate strategies to program, project, and proposal teams.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You'll Need:
- High School diploma or equivalent plus 14 years or more related experience.
- Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Bachelor's or Master's, may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- A current, active Secret security clearance is required.
Full-Time On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site full-time. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

- Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Verification that your current security clearance or government customer access meets the requirement for this position will be required.
Relocation for this position is not available.
Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE: $35.34 - $47.84 per hour (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
