Your Role and Responsibilities
The Solutions Consultant (Pre-Sales) will work closely with the field sales team to support new business development sales and help identify new prospects at customer events and conferences to help increase revenue. He/she will provide solution-based presentations demonstrations and technical validation to prove business value. Also leads solution design and takes technical responsibility for winning contracts. Discovery (requirements/issues interviews):
Assist in identifying potential sales opportunities and discovering the challenges and solutions to those challenges for prospective customers.

Product Presentations and Demonstrations:
Product presentation and demonstration to demonstrate Apptio’s ability to address the client’s ITFM challenges. The demonstration and subsequent outcomes are the initial proof that Apptio can deliver value around IT business and financial management based on what is learned through discovery sessions and engagements. These can be conducted onsite or remotely.

-An overview of Apptio’s architecture and technical components:
A detailed description of Apptio’s technical architecture and unique product features that provide unique value in the marketplace.

Technical validation/PoC:
Successful completion of the required technical validation event where Apptio presales will leverage the data and other information provided by the prospect to concretely demonstrate to the prospect the value of leveraging Apptio’s solution.

/Responses to RFIs/RFPs:
Lead the creation of responses to requests for information and proposals from specific prospects. This includes content creation and formatting ensuring quality of responses and timely delivery of responses.

Knowledge sharing:
Share experience and technical know-how gained on each project within the pre-sales team and to other departments within the company.

Collaboration and support:
Assist other Solution Consultants in performing their responsibilities as outlined above.

Provide feedback:
Provide feedback on successes and failures in the field to the R&D department to help improve product functionality.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
・Approximately 5+ years of pre-sales experience selling complex software solutions to IT organizations in a variety of industries
∙ Familiarity with tools used to lead IT organizations including network and server monitoring service desk project management asset management database management reporting ERP BI SAFe Excel etc.
・Familiarity with basic financial and accounting concepts.
・Familiarity with enterprise business management software (SAP PeopleSoft JD Edwards etc.)
・Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with the IT department.
・Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
・Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
・Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Information Systems Finance or equivalent
