IInformation System Security Engineer (ISSE)

Job Opportunity: Our team is seeking a talented ISSO to work in our Vienna, VA location. 

What You'll Get to Do as a ISSO:

• Supports FISMA compliance and provides security support for information systems throughout the Risk Management Framework (RMF) lifecycle.
• Works closely with business and technical stakeholders to select and help implement security controls as outlined within NIST SP 800 series and agency guidelines and leads information systems through the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process. 
• Advises on the design and development of secure systems architecture as well as industry best practices and information systems technologies available to meet security requirements. 
• Documents System Security Plans (SSPs), reviews and uploads supporting security artifacts and evidence, generates risk reports, and facilitates continuous monitoring process for authorized systems.
• Monitors and reports POA&M status to all stakeholders including system owner, project team, and security leadership. 
• Follows up with appropriate personnel to ensure that POA&Ms are remediated in a timely manner and reports status to the POA&M Manager. The ISSO analyzes Configuration Change Requests (CCRs) by conducting a security impact analysis to initiate required actions to maintain security posture and ATO status.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

• Must have an active DoD Secret clearance 
• BS Degree with 5 plus years of experience.
• Security certification preferred (Security+, CAP, CISSP, CISA, etc.)
• Must have strong technical skills across a variety of technologies such as multi-tiered architecture, databases, LDAP and directory services, application servers, COTS products, and cloud solutions and understanding security and dataflow within these components. 
• Experienced ISSO working with multiple system Security and Assessment Authorization documentation including SSP, FIPS199, PIA, Risk assessment, etc. Experience working with NIST 800-53, FIPS 199, NIST RMF and some Cloud Systems experience (FedRAMP/ AWS) is required.
• Experience working with High Value Assets (HVA) preferred.
