ILUS - Emulation Engineer II

Overview

Leads the emulation of usually mid-sized complex material handling systems, developing, designing, engineering, and integration of multiple technologies. Works with software and controls engineering to develop 3D models for mid-sized automated projects

Responsibilities

• Performs and leads emulation of usually mid-sized material handling systems, developing, designing, engineering, and integration of multiple technologies.
• Collaborates with other engineers supporting the design of usually mid-sized end-to-end material handling systems that integrate multiple technologies such as sortation conveyors, automated storage and retrieval systems, robotics, voice and light picking systems, and supporting structures
• Develops 3D emulation models to validate system equipment controls and system software
• Performs data collection and analysis to define design criteria and validate designs
• Provides feedback to multidisciplinary engineering teams and clients about design considerations, consequences, and results derived from the emulation

Travels up to 10%

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in material handling industry, minimum of 5 years
• Experience in simulation or emulation experience, minimum of 3 years
• Experience in software development with emphasis on object oriented design, minimum 1 year
• Knowledge of material handling, including controls and software and material handling equipment technology
• Knowledge of process improvement processes and mathematical modeling of systems
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Visio, and SQL and knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
• Familiarity of AutoCAD
• Proficient in Javascript or similar scripting languages
• Knowledge or experience with Demo/Emulate 3d, Automod, or similar simulation software.
• Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
• Ability to handle multiple project assignments and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced results-oriented environment
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong data visualization and presentation skills
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and understand interface specification documents
