Position Title: Image Analysis Intern

Role

As an intern, you will be working closely with our team to conduct research, capture data and identifying data patterns that help drive actionable business insights. This role is located in Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and implementation of the following:

    • Research on algorithms or libraries to improve the images analysis.
    • Develop scripts to read data, detect quality of the images and read text.
    • Work through the process to design, develop and test the solution.
    • Provide project status to other team members of the group.
  • Learn Agile methodology working directly in projects including but not limited to sprint planning, demos, sprint reviews and retrospectives.

Expectations

  • Good knowledge of python and libraries related to image processing like opencv, Pillow or any other.

  • Explore options to automate the access to dataset, read the files and extract data from the files with no need to open one by one.

  • Use different techniques as optical character recognition (OCR) and APIs call to extract text, logos or recognizing patterns on the files.
  • Test and iterate code to improve the process to extract data.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teammates and manager.
  • Agility to learn new skills and abilities as work within your group may change.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to present complex information in a clear and simple format.
  • A constant example of modeling Crown's Purple values.

Education/Certifications

  • Currently enrolled in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited higher education institution.
  • Preferred field(s) of study: Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, or related field.

Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time, regular basis without additional sponsorship.
  • Completed coursework in or have an understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  • Knowledge of Python and libraries related to image processing.

Reports to: Senior RF Engineer

Work Plans: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in your assigned office approximately 60% of the time (3 days per week) and where you do your best work 40% (2 days per week).
