Image and Data Analysis Engineer Intern

Applied Materials' Office of the CTO is searching for an engineering intern to join our team in summer 2023. The Office of the CTO is presently extending Applied Materials' equipment platforms and process technology to semiconductor-adjacent markets including electric vehicle energy storage.

A summer internship in the Office of the CTO is an opportunity for an engineering intern to develop hardware and process engineering skills including:

• Strong interest in Python script development for automated image analysis and yield statistics reporting
• Image capture and analysis to classify and quantify coating defects
• Data analysis to evaluate process parameter impact on yield statistics (familiarity with JMP is desired)
• Practice defining problem statements, generating and hypothesis testing alternatives, and implementing Safe and timely solutions
• Exposure to business processes for evaluating market-driven technical inflections that relate to Applied Materials' core competencies

Requirements

• Student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in physics, materials, math, or related engineering discipline
• Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a GPA of 3.0 or above
• Demonstrated interest and experience in materials science and nanofabrication preferred

Compensation

$32 - $41 per hour

The rate offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and education level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
